Environmental health is considered to be all the components of nature and man made elements that affect human health and disease state. These include air, soil, water, buildings, chemicals, sound, radiation, work places and animals. To some extent even people can be considered as part of our naturally occurring environment.
It is important maintain a healthy environment in order to avoid certain diseases . Diseases such as cholera, Respiratory conditions, vector borne diseases such as leishmaniasis and cancers of various forms can be contracted from poor environmental practices such as contaminated water supply or overuse of chemicals in plants.
Aesthetic environments promotes a sense of community, improves wellbeing and mental ease/excitement, gives a sense of security and encourages social interactions and outdoor activities.
